Two free shows, at 9 p.m. and at midnight, launch from downtown rooftops, and 16th Street has the best views. RTD is free from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., but a booked car home is still the smoother end to the night.

Denver Broncos 2026 season. Home Sundays still to come include the Raiders on Nov 22, the Dolphins on Dec 6, a Christmas Day game against the Bills, and the Chargers to close the regular season on Jan 9 or 10. On game days the stadium area and I-25 are crowded for hours, so plan suites, tailgates and rides early.
Colorado Avalanche 2026-27 season. The Avs play 42 home games at Ball Arena this season, ending with a matinee against Minnesota on April 10 before the playoffs. A winter night at an Avs game, with dinner in LoDo first, is one of the city's best evenings out.
Denver Nuggets 2026-27 season. The Nuggets opened at Oklahoma City on Oct 22 and at home on Oct 24, and the 82-game regular season ends at Ball Arena against the Thunder on April 11. Courtside seats and club suites sell out for marquee opponents, so book them early.
Light the Lights and holiday light show at the City and County Building. The city lights the City and County Building at 5 p.m. on Nov 20, and music-and-light shows play at 5:45 and 6:45 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday through Jan 24. It is a short, free stop worth adding to a downtown holiday evening.
Colorado Mammoth 2026-27 NLL season. Denver's pro box-lacrosse team opens on the road on Dec 5 and plays its first home game on New Year's Day against the Georgia Swarm. The fast, loud games are an easy family night out in winter.
