Good to know
Choose your neighborhood first. LoDo and Union Station suit a short first visit, since you can walk to most things and the A Line train runs straight to the airport. Cherry Creek and the Highlands are lovely but sit away from the train, so plan a taxi or rideshare for the last stretch. Our neighborhoods guide compares them.
Heading to the mountains the next morning? A downtown hotel puts you on I-70 quickly, and an early start beats the weekend traffic. Book your transfer from the hotel door to the ski towns, and see our I-70 winter driving guide for the hours to avoid.
Big events fill the city: concerts at Ball Arena, Broncos home games, the National Western Stock Show in January. Check the Denver events calendar before you book, since your first choice can fill on those dates.
